my Rollerblades

When I was looking through my closet trying to find a pair of shoes to write about; I thought it would be a great excuse to try on some of my old favorites that I couldn’t wear when I was pregnant. As I pranced around my bedroom in my high heels and sashayed in front of my mirror, it was also a blatant reminder that I did just have a baby and my body and my shoes did not look the same on me as they did a few years ago.


Summer has arrived very quickly here in So. Cal and my main focus was to whip my butt back into shape. I saw a lady at the park rollerblading with her stroller and I thought it would be a fun way to exercise and bring the kids along as well. Not having a huge budget to spend on rollerblades, I was quickly disappointed when the pair I wanted cost $199. I figured I would just wait and save up to buy them, but when I went to the store to pick up my 3-wheel jogging stroller, there they were, the last pair of the rollerblades that I wanted on sale for $89.99 and size 8.5. It was meant to be.


My rollerblades and I quickly bonded (It’s been almost 20 years since I wore them), we’ve been skating around the neighbourhood, through the trails of the riverwalk, up and down hills and with my two kids in tow. So far I haven’t lost any weight, but I’ve been toning up very quickly and I have to thank my blades for giving me the inspiration and for allowing me to have fun at the same time.


Who knows, when I finally do get back into shape, I might send in another post of my new Steve M’s or my Nine West boots that look great but I can’t wear because it has not been that cold down here this year.
