They were sandals. The ones that I wore when I wanted to feel like an Arabian princess. Graceful, more than myself. The ones that I wore when I wanted an admiring glance or two. The stones glimmering, the jewels glittering. The ones that I wore when I wanted to be that exotic girl with the mysterious past. The one who managed to catch the light and hold it. If only for a moment.
Yes, they were sandals. But perhaps, just perhaps…..they were more than that.
